A district attorney has indicated that two married teachers will face criminal charges after they were arrested for sending erotic text messages to a 16-year-old female student and attempting to arrange group sex with her.
Amy Northcutt, 26, and Justin Northcutt, 27, are former teachers at Turlock Christian School in Turlock, Calif. They were arrested in June after school let out for the summer, the Modesto Bee reported.
Amy, a history teacher at the student's high school, turned in her resignation in May. Her husband was a substitute teacher.
The couple was arrested June 2 on suspicion of distribution or exhibition of lewd material to a minor and annoying or molesting a child under 18, Sheriff's Department spokesman Royjindar Singh said. Justin was released from jail on $25,000 bail, and Amy was released on $10,000 bail.

School Superintendent Jack Mayer told the newspaper the teachers have been warned to stay away from parents, students and school property.
"We notified the parents just because we felt it was the right thing to do," Mayer said.
The student's mother had suspicions when she saw Justin Northcutt talking to her daughter at a family event, so she contacted authorities.
Sheriffs told San Francisco's CBS 5 that the student's family reported the situation before the couple succeeded in having sex with the girl.
"If family members didn't jump in on time, who knows what this could have led to," Singh said.
The Stanislaus County district attorney's office charged the couple today with a felony count of "harmful matter sent with intent of seduction of a minor." Their arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 3.
